Action on Air Quality Published
The Environmental Audit Committee has today published the document Action on Air Quality – Sixth Report of Session 2014 -2015. Amongst other things the report recommends
“…….The planning system should be used, to ensure buildings such as houses, schools, hospitals and care homes are not placed near major road intersections or other pollution hotspots. Schools should have adequate public transport links to reduce the need for car journeys and be easily reached by cycling or walking from the surrounding community. This would encourage “active travel”. Existing schools could be fitted with air filtration systems where necessary if they are sited in pollution hotspots.”
Synergy Environmental Solutions can measure the air quality in houses, schools, hospitals and care homes to examine the levels of nitrogen oxides, particulates and ozone. We can then advise if air filtration systems are necessary.
